Hello there, fellow Anglophiles.

Today is Tuesday, June 16, and man, we are just…in…the thick of it, aren’t we? When we’re not marching for Black Lives Matter we’re at home contemplating systemic oppression. When we’re not marching for LGBTQ rights, we’re at home contemplating systemic oppression. Trump is still out there. Boris is still out there. The plague? That’s still out there.

Shall I say that again for the people in the back with no masks on? THE PLAGUE IS STILL OUT THERE. This thing is gonna rage on no matter how many people wanna pretend it’s not. Seriously, who wants to sit at a restaurant eating while a plague rages on? Motherfuckers, they’re just Brussels sprouts! It’s just buffalo cauliflower! It’s just an Aperol Spritz! Would you die for an Aperol Spritz?

Truly. We are in the thick of it.

My father attempted to go to his neighborhood driving range the other day. When he realized he was the only person wearing a mask, he bounced. One smug employee had the gall to tell him, “I can’t take you seriously with that stupid thing on your face.” What absolutely vexes my ass is the fact — fact! — that outdoor activities don’t have to be dangerous if people follow the rules. For the first time in my life, I’m going to firmly say that in this particular case — when we’re truly talking about life and death — following the rules is actually really damn cool.

Oh God, ya know who’s also still out there? Absurd white women. I hate these videos of absurd white women in grocery stores yelling at Latinx people to “Go back to where you came from” like it’s their job.

Oh God, ya know who’s also still out there? Cops. I hate these videos of violent, rabid cops assaulting protestors like it's, well, their job.
